Funeral services for Mr. James Michael Bryant, age 74 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 3:00 Pm, Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Laran with Bro Buddy Boatright and Bro. Harlin Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mr. James passed away September 8, 2023. He was born May 5, 1949 in Farmerville, LA. he loved to fish, hunt. Build bird houses and swings and other wood crafts. In his earlier years, he was in the logging business before working at Davidson Transport and retiring from there in 2002.

Mr. James is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Vinola Bryant; brother, Max Delane Bryant and sister-in-law, Joyce Bryant; brothers in law, Bob Jester and Dan Nale; and nephews, Kevin Jester and Sean Jester.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Shannon Bryant of Farmerville and Jason Colbert Bryant of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Leah Jade Bryant of Dallas, TX; sisters, Barbara Jester of Laran and Linda Nale of Truxno; several nieces and nephews; and his feline companion, Chloe.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Miller, Brian Jester, Boyd Knight, Harlin Knight, Tex Rowell, Max Harrison, and Odell Nash. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Randy Foster.

Visitation will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, prior to the service.
