Jackie Davis Norton, beloved father, grandfather, husband and friend, passed away suddenly at his home on June 3, 2021.  Mr. Norton spent his life in the service of his neighbors.  Jackie served in the United States Army from 1966 ~ 1968.  He took various mission trips overseas, from 1970 through 1980, to places such as Hong Kong, Philippines, and Thailand.  For 20 years he worked for several natural gas companies throughout Louisiana, but most recently, he worked with Union Parish Dispatch and later as a Patrolman at Marion Police Department.  He was an avid hunter, but hated to fish! He was devoted to his faith, family and country.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Mr. Norton was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Anna Lou Norton; and several aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Rebecca Norton; children, Douglas Parker Norton & wife, Laurie of Poquoson, Va., Scott Michael Norton of Marion, La. and Meriane Norton & fiancé, Duke Sonnier of West Monroe, La.; three grandsons, Seth Norton & fiancé, Carissa Chalsma and Zach Norton all of Poquoson, Va., and Malakai "Bugg" Norton of Marion, La.  Jackie was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first granddaughter, "Little" Pearl Sonnier.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Caldwell, Stacy Caldwell, Ashley Rhodes, Seth Norton, Zach Norton and Duke Sonnier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Dodd and the Men's Sunday School Class of Liberty Baptist Church.

"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
