Funeral services for Helen LaRue Ulmer Roach, 92, will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Bernice with Rev. Johnny Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Weldon Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mrs. Roach, a homemaker, went to her heavenly home March 20, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of Bernice, La. and a member of First United Methodist Church of Bernice. Mrs. Roach enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, flowers, birds, working with her husband in the cattle business and keeping her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and was known for her pecan pies and worked with the Council on Aging in Bernice. During WWII, she was proud to work in the Shell Plant serving her country.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Van R. Roach, Sr.; parents, Enos & Marie Ulmer; son, Dennis Lane Roach; and brother, Ralph Ulmer.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Dickie Roach & Cheryl of Jonesboro, La.; 2 daughters, Connie Roach Pope & husband Norman of Stonewall, La. and Janis Roach Neel of Doyline, La.; 1 brother, Laddie Ulmer of Minden, La.; 2 sisters, Yvonne Hoffoss of Minden, La. and Betty Sutton of Bossier City, La.; 6 grandchildren, Bryn Gouge, Jamie Rigsby, Tim Pope, Ryan Rigsby, Nikki Blondin and Travis Frasier; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation is from 5-8pm, Tuesday, at First United Methodist Church of Bernice.
