Obituary

Graveside services will be held for Harry Louis Maroney, Sr. on Saturday, September 25, 2021, 10:00 A.M. at Roark Allen Cemetery in Marion, La. with Bro. Bill Smith and Bro. Bubba Hoggatt officiating.

Mr. Maroney was born in Oakland, Louisiana on February 6, 1924 and went to be with his heavenly Father on September 22, 2021 after a brief illness. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Harry loved to tell his war stories to anyone that would listen. Mr. Maroney retired from Manville Forestry Department. He was an active member of Marion United Methodist Church. The members enjoyed listening to him play the violin every Sunday. He and his wife of 31 years, Diana, loved going to the camp and fishing. They both enjoyed traveling when time permitted.

He is preceded in death by: his son's mother, Dorothy Jean Gibson Maroney; granddaughter, Paige Maroney Jones; parents, Louie and Mabel Maroney; brother, Fred Maroney; and sisters, Mary Washam and Louise Jones.

Left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Diana Maroney; sons, Buddy Maroney (Sue) and Jeff Maroney; grandson, Jeffrey Maroney (Kate); great-granddaughters, Taylor Bryant, Anna Jones, Mattie Maroney and Cheyenne Maroney; great-grandsons, Drew Jones and Colton Maroney; extended family, James Reppond (Jeanette), Dale Reppond (Linda), Ronda Reese (Mike), Rene Miller (Ron), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Jay Mallard, Mikey Miller, Mitch Reppond, Pete Reynolds, Mike Reese and Andy Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Mark Dodd, Spence Allen and Huey Rhodes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Marion United Methodist Church or either the charity of your choice.
