A memorial service for Mrs. Gwendolyn "Pete" Rhodes, age 83 of Marion, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Marion United Methodist Church with Bro. Bill Smith and Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating.

Pete was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all she met. After retirement, she and Huey traveled extensively on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle taking four different trips to Canada. Pete was passionate about fishing at the Ouachita River and spending time with her family and friends at the river. She and Huey spent a lot of time at their travel trailer in Mountain View, Arkansas over the years. Pete loved all her grandchildren and spent a lot of time following them to softball tournaments and dance recitals. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Pete was preceded in death by her parents, Arvel and Nellie Gilbert; and granddaughter, Clare Rhodes.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Huey Rhodes; children, Wayne Rhodes (Julia), Steve Rhodes (Melissa Kelly-Rhodes), Charles "Sambo" Rhodes (Melissa); grandchildren, Nathan Rhodes, Ashley Rhodes, Amy White, Aran Rhodes, Bethany Corona, and David Rhodes; and great grandchildren, Cameron Rhodes, Zach Rhodes, Colt Rushing, Shelby Rushing, Ada White, Waylon White, Evangeline Corona, and McKenna Corona.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, September 5, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home.
