Funeral services for Ms. Gloria Jean Heard, age 84 of Natchitoches, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2023 at Rock Corner Baptist Church with Bro. Larray Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Corner Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Gloria passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at Arbor Lake Nursing Home. She was retired waitress and stay at home mom. She loved life and her children and our Lord and Savior.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Edgar Dowden and Henry Heard; her parents, Joseph Leo Neitte and Angelina Edwards Neitte; her sister, Ruby Gallien; two brothers, Curtis Neitte and James Ernest Neitte.

She is survived by two sons, William Houston (Billy) Dowden and wife Leah of Ruston, LA and Gregory Todd Dowden and wife Marry of Easley, SC; daughter, Kimberly Ann Murrary and husband Michael of Farmerville, LA; two granddaughters, Caitlin Dowden and Autumn Murray; grandson, Nathan Lee Murray; three sisters, Rose Morelock  and Sharon Thomas of Natchitoches, LA and Delinda Dietrich of Livingston, LA; and her brother, Jerry "Pete" Neitte of Natchitoches, LA.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service, December 18, 2023 at Rock Corner Baptist Church.
