A funeral service for Mrs. Frances Melvine Whitner, age 92 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM February 1, 2023 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eugene Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill – Taylor under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mrs. Whitner loved her church, Rocky Branch Assembly of God, her family, the many cornhole tournaments she participated in and eating at Hollis Restaurant on Thursday evenings. Early in her life she and her brother opened and ran restaurants in Marion, Haile, Monroe, and West Monroe.

Mrs. Whitner was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Charlie Whitner; her parents: John Henry Smith and Annie Kemp; children: Evelyn Williamson, Kay Williamson, Sharon Stevenson, and Larry Rogers; two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by two daughters: Laurine Bridges and Rhonda Vermillion (Jack), two sons: David Williamson (Linda) and Joshua Whitner (Miranda); a number of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and one sister: Betty Mckinney (Ivan).

Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Vermillion, Chad Vermillion, Brad Vermillion, Casey Foster, Shawn Reeves, and Rick Carter. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Jed Rhodes.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM  Wednesday, February 01, 2023 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.
