Graveside services for Frances Lee "Sissy" Thurston, of Bossier City, will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Linville with Bro. Terry Cole officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Sissy entered Heaven on April 27, 2019 at the age of 54 after a sudden illness. Sissy was born June 27, 1964 in Monroe, La. and lived at her home in Linville for the first eight years of her life. Being born with Cerebral Palsy, she was able to live at NorthWest State School (The ARC) in Bossier City, where she was one of the first residents to reside in the school from 1974 to the present. Sissy enjoyed listening to music, going to church, and going for rides in her wheelchair, especially outside.

Sissy is preceded in death by her parents, George E. Thurston, Jerry and Don Brantley, infant brother, two infant nephews, Virgil Brantley, II Jesse Brantley, and nephew, Eli Thomas.

Those left to remember Sissy are her three sisters, Jeannie Browning (ET) of Lake Charles, Cindy Brantley (Virgil) of Linville and Amy Thomas (Billy) of Spencer; two brothers, Steve Thurston (Carol) and Mike Thurston both of Linville; two step-brothers, Donnie Brantley (Vicki) of Farmerville and Stan Brantley (Lynne) of Huntingdon, Tn.; one aunt, Rose Mary Thurston of Monroe; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Steve Thurston, Mike Thurston, Bill Thurston, Lance Thomas, BJ Thomas and Tyler Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Thomas and Tom Garris.

Sissy's family would like to express a special thank you to all the staff and caregivers at NorthWest School for their many years of love and care they gave her, and the EMT's, ER Staff, SICU Staff and Doctors of Willis Knighten Bossier for the special care they gave Sissy.
