Funeral services for Floyd William "Buddy" Newcomb, age 82 of Marion, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Salem Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard and Bro. Kurt Auger officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Buddy was born October 06, 1942 and pass away December 7, 2024 in his home surrounded by his four sons and family. He started his career in the pipeline industry working on the pipe gang, changing his career path, he drove for Davidson Trucking, Matlack Trucking, and retiring from Walmart Trucking. Coming out of retirement so he could work with his sons, he worked for Price Gregory Pipeline and Rockford Pipeline as a teamster on road bore and various crews. Finally, he moved to pipeline inspection, always working with one or more of his sons. Buddy's greatest enjoyment in life was hunting and spending time outdoors., preferably on Bayou De 'Loutre. He enjoyed country music and old Gospel music, visiting with people, and researching genealogy. Buddy served as a reserve Deputy Sherrif for years with both Larry Averitt and Bob Buckley.

Buddy was preceded in death by his father: Floyd W. Newcomb, Sr.; mother: Belledia K. Taunton; step-father: Frank Taunton; and sister: Joyce Reynolds.

He is survived by his sons: Stephen Newcomb, Gary Newcomb and wife Monica, Greg Newcomb and wife Mary, and Kevin Newcomb and wife Dee; grandchildren: Cody Newcomb and wife Mikayla, Ashley Silmon, Rachel Newcomb, Emma Newcomb, Chase Newcomb, Bradley Newcomb, Morgan Hood, Dale Dupree, Jr., and Amber Edwards; and great grandchildren: Piper Newcomb, Lucas Newcomb, Trenton Newcomb, Weston Newcomb, and Paisley Silmon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Newcomb, Gary Newcomb, Greg Newcomb, Kevin Newcomb, Cody Newcomb, Bradley Newcomb, and Chase Newcomb. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Couch, Earl Roberts, and Dan Hicks.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Salem Baptist Church.
