Funeral services for Eric Eugene "Ricky" Squyres, age 78 of Spearsville, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2024 at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA with Bro. James Norwood and Bro. Adam Holloway officiating.

Ricky was born in Homer, Louisiana on September 3, 1946, and passed away December 23, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana surrounded by his wife and three children. Ricky spent his early years in Hico, Louisiana before moving to the Beulah Community just north of Farmerville, Louisiana. He graduated from Spearsville High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He served his country for four years during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969 where he rose to the rank of Sergeant (E5). Ricky spent most of his life as a poultry and cattle farmer. He loved Jesus, his family, and his church.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents: Winston Squyres and Ruth Terral Squyres; brothers: Darrell Squyres and Jack Squyres; and sisters Patsy Squyres Tucker and Fanni Squyres Cook.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Wanda Boggs Squyres; two daughters: Kerri Squyres Smith and husband David and Amy Holloway Rawls; son: Adam Holloway and wife Amanda; grandchildren: Trey Smith and wife Jania, Hayden Smith and wife Aubree, Tanner Rawls and fiance Lauren, Kaydee Rawls, Chandler Holloway, and Camden Holloway; his siblings: Carroll Squyres and wife Patti, Judy LeGendre and husband Clay, Cathie Liles and husband Ronnie, Mary Elizabeth Hayes and husband Ricky, and Tommy Squyres; five great grandchildren; a loving church family; and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Trey Smith, Tanner Rawls, Hayden Smith, Chandler Holloway, Camden Holloway, and Noah Willoughby. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Lowe, Buddy Burleigh Herrington, and Jesus Rodriguez.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Church, prior to the service.
