Funeral services for Mr. Emmett L. Silmon, age 80 of Downsville, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Sardis Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA with Bro. John Rushing officiating. Burial will be held at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery in Farmerville under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.

Emmett was born December 27, 1942 in Downsville to Lavelle and Eunice Silmon and passed away June 6, 2023 in Farmerville. He worked with Claiborne Electric for many years. Emmett enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and following his granddaughter Sharie for her high school softball games. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother J. L. Silmon; and sister-in-law Mercyle Silmon.

Emmett is survived by his wife Patricia Silmon; son Billy Wayne Silmon; daughter Tina Silmon; son Jamie Silmon and wife Sue; granddaughter Sharie Silmon; step-grandson Shannon Farrar and wife Nikki; step-great-grandson Rylan Farrar; and a host of other family and many friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Frasier, Randy Giddens, Jack Boggs, Jeff Kirkland, Donald Lee Davidson, Andy Curry, George Upshaw and Rusty Garner.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM, Friday, June 9, 2023 at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
