Funeral services for Emmett Bearden, 80, of Farmerville will be held at 10:00am, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Bearden, retired from the Union Parish School Board, went to his heavenly home October 29, 2016. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Mr. Bearden enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and visiting with family and friends. He loved his church and most of all his Lord Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Lonia Bearden; two sisters, Mattie Dean and Emma McCrary; two brothers, W.B. Bearden and Len Bearden; and granddaughter, Cassie Dianne Cordova.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Laveina Bearden; one son, Henry Bearden of Farmerville; two daughters, Tammy Cordova & husband, Michael of W. Monroe and Lisa Martin of Cuba, Mo.; two sisters, Rita Daigrepont & husband, Ernest of Moreauville, La. and Margaret Chandler of Camden, Ar.; three grandchildren, Heather Dickinson & husband, Christopher, Wade Martin & wife, Abigail, and Steven Martin; four great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sephiroth, Lilith and Luke; his beloved dog Sam; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Cummings, Jimmy Martin, Johnny Pearson, Dennis Lannan, Junior Johnson and John Ed Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Adams, James "Hamburger" Bennett, and Stein Bearden.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 5:00pm 8:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.
