Funeral services for Elwood Silmon, 92, of Farmerville will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Andy Allred officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Silmon went to his heavenly home on January 19, 2018. Mr. Silmon was a native of Downsville and spent over 34 years in Ruston, having moved back to Union Parish for the past 37 years. He was retired from Public Works of Ruston. He was an avid fisherman and duck hunter.

Mr. Silmon was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Sadie Tidwell Silmon; and his parents, Oscar & Lottie Silmon.

Left to cherish his memory is one son, Jerry Lane Silmon & wife, Karen; one daughter, Vickie Sayers & husband, Ronnie; one brother, Oscar Howard Silmon, Jr.; one grandchild, Jeremy Lee Silmon; and a host of friends and other family members.

Pallbearers will be Todd Silmon, Tim Silmon, Mike Silmon, Schuyler League, Brad Post, Randy Giddens and Jeremy Silmon.

Visitation will be from 12:30pm til time of the service at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville.
