Elvie Elizabeth Phillips Smith of West Monroe, La., passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. She was born in Farmerville, La. on December 10, 1947.
Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lucille Phillips of Farmerville, La.
She is survived by her sons, James Bradly Smith, Jr. and wife, Michelle, of West Monroe, La. and Phillip Matthew Smith and wife, Tiffany, of Farmerville, La. Grandchildren are Madison Smith of Nashville, Tn.; Whitney Smith Albritton and husband, Cody, of Farmerville, La.; Adrian Smith, of West Monroe, La.; Cole Smith and wife, Taylor, of Farmerville, La.; Peyton Smith of West Monroe, La.; and Andrea Smith of West Monroe, La. Other survivors include two sisters, Brenda Phillips Pace and husband, Allen, of Farmerville, La. and Jackie Phillips Hancock and husband, Brian, of Ruston, La.; one brother, Fred Phillips of Arlington, Tx,; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ms. Smith loved Jesus and had a passion for ministry. She went to England, Mexico, and Africa on mission trips, and spent many years working at Celebrate Recovery. She was also a terrific cook and baker and authored her own cookbook.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Antioch Baptist Cemetery, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to Antioch Baptist Cemetery Fund, 3501 Highway 828, Farmerville, La. 71241.
