A funeral service for Mr. Elmer Mayer Spencer, 90, of Rocky Branch, La., will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, 2:00 PM at Ward Chapel Church of Christ in Farmerville, La. with Don Delukie officiating and Terry Cole assisting. Interment will follow in Rocky Branch Cemetery in Farmerville, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Ward Chapel Church of Christ in Farmerville, La. prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Elmer Spencer passed away on January 4, 2022. Elmer was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and he served during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Bancroft Bag, Inc. for many years. Elmer had many hobbies that he enjoyed, and those hobbies consisted of collecting bottles, working in his yard, and being outdoors. He was a member of Northeast Louisiana Bottle Club where his nickname was "Bottle Digger". Mr. Elmer was also member of Rocky Branch Church of Christ, and then later, Ward Chapel Church of Christ. Elmer was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, George Elmer and Alice Gresham Spencer; brothers, Jesse Allen Spencer and Eldridge Spencer; three step-sisters, Yvonne Reeves, Mary Alice Reeves, and Merlie Pylant; and granddaughter, Heather Spencer McCarty.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Gloria Nell Hayes Spencer; sons, Johnny Spencer, Sr. (Margarett) and Bruce Spencer (Jenise); grandchildren, Christy Ticheli, Victoria Armstrong, Allen Spencer, and Johnny Spencer, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, along with numerous family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Allen Spencer, Greg Armstrong, Darrell Williams, Ben Ticheli, Damien McCarty, Cody McCarty, James McCarty, and Johnny Spencer, Jr.
