Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Gertrude Allen, age 89 of Bernice, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Scallon and Bro. Tony Walton officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mrs. Edna was a 1952 graduate of Bernice High School and a graduate of Bossier City Business College. She worked for over 34 years at Lindsey Bonded Warehouse in Bernice, LA. Mrs. Edna was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was known for "telling it like it is" and would warn you.

Mrs. Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Carl Allen; parents, Patrick and Alice Ivey Goodrum; daughter and son in law, Anita and James Cook; brother, Max E. Goodrum; and great granddaughter, Haley Renea Dupree.

She is survived by her three daughters, Delene (Mike) O'Rear, Rhonda Lewis, and Renea (Otis) King; grandchildren, Steven (Sherri) Ellis, Alisha Simonson, Thomas (Shirley) Cook, Christy (Gary) Davidson, and Seth (Jolie) King; ten great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and a host of extended family.

Visitation will be held at 12:30 PM, prior to the service at Shiloh Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to Shiloh Cemetery Fund, in care of Shiloh Baptist Church.
