A funeral service for Douglas "Doug" Simpson, 64, of Bernice, La., will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Evergreen Baptist Church in Bernice, La. with Bro. Michael McIntosh and Rev. Wayne Sistrunk officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Bernice, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2022 at Evergreen Baptist Church in Bernice, La.

Douglas "Doug" Simpson was born July 12, 1957 and passed away April 29, 2022. Doug was a graduate of Bernice High School where he played football. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to hunt and fish Corney Creek, Middle Fork, and D'Arbonne Lake. Doug began his career working with Hogan Hardwood of Ruston where he graded lumber and molding. He later retired from Pabco Fiber Board and IIG of Grambling making hot water and steam pipe insulation.

In the past several months, Doug enjoyed working and helping his daughters run their restaurant, The 'Bonne Docks. Doug loved all the members of his family and he wanted all to get along. He treated them as his own, loving and taking care of their needs. Doug took time to meet his mother-in-law's needs in these last few years. His home church was Evergreen Baptist Church of Bernice, La. but then later moved to First Baptist Church of Bernice, La. Doug was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Inez Austin Simpson; brother, Clifford Simpson; and son-in-law, Craig Ardoin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 19 years, Pamela Murphy Simpson; daughters, Vanessa Simpson Adams (Terry), Kristy Simpson Ardoin, Jennifer Dalleo, and Sarah Mills (Andy); son, Daniel Dalleo (Katie); brother, Roger Lee Simpson; mother-in-law, Sue Hammons Porter; grandchildren, Dawson Adams, Dylan Adams, Brooklyn Adams, Jace Anderson, Tanner Gray, Ezra Dalleo, Naomi Dalleo, Samuel Mills, and Wyatt Mills; and one great-grandchild, Layton Adams.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Dendy, John Wortham, David Austin, Todd Simpson, Dillon Adams, Dawson Adams, Scott Simpson, Dallas Simpson, and Eddie Smith.
