Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Nell "Dot" Johnson Tarter, age 85 of Haile, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2024 at Haile Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Murray officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Linville, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Dot went to her heavenly home August 13, 2024 with her family by her side after a lengthy illness. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, Mamaw, and friend. She never met a stranger and loved to tell them all about her Jesus. Dot loved watching the many hummingbirds that gathered yearly in her front yard along with many other birds and animals. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and reaching out to those in need.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Mae Tubbs Johnson; son in laws, Ronnie Fuller and Gary Diel; brother, Odell Johnson; and sisters, Doris Dollar, Darlene Jones, Mildred Ball, Minnie Pilgreen, and Margaret Bradshaw Adams.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Paul Tarter; daughters, Brenda Fuller, Mary Thompson (Robert), Paula Almonte (Gil), Anita Diel (Robert Pace), Rhonda Langford (Troy), and Dana Westerburg (Ken); sister, Teenie Bowen; twelve grandchildren, Darrell Fuller, Stephanie Pardue (Jeremy), James Michael Elliott, Melissa Franks (Steven), Amanda "Mandi" Brown (Josh), Brandi Chappell (Casey), Heather Stanley (Charles), Steven Stanley, Meghan Collins (Chad), Nikalus Wall, Emily Sharplin (Isaiah), and Makayla Westerburg; four bonus grandchildren, Robbie Thompson (Sherri), Rochelle Wolford (Herbie), Sarah Langford, and Isaac "Zack" Langford; 30 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be great grandsons Ethaen Fuller-Pardue, Jacub Bracknell, Logan Laborde, Lee Chappell, Elijah Franks, and Devin Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be James Michael Elliott, Colton Bracknell, Wyatt Chappell, Oliver Stanley, Mason Brown, Nolan Brown, Kaden Bracknell, William "Rence" Wolford, and Brendan Thompson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Haile Baptist Church.
