Funeral services for Mr. Donald "Donny" Ray, age 80 of Bernice, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home with Greg Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Chapel cemetery in Hico, LA, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mr. Donny and his father owned and operated Rays Gulf in Bernice, LA and worked with Pesnell Gulf in Ruston, LA. He finished his career with Louisiana Department of Transportation and Developmental in Union Parish. Many people will remember Donny for his unique train whistle sounds he would make. Donny was patriotic, never met a stranger, and had a comical side. He provided love and support to his family as he cared for them.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Minnie Fitzgerald Ray; and his brothers, James and Bill Ray.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Ray; daughter, Michelle Brantley and husband Tracey; granddaughter, Alyssa Brantley; his great grandson Xander Bartolome; and sister, Joyce Tilley.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tracey Brantley, Greg Tilley, Todd Tilley, and Jhon Bartolome.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM, prior to the service, August 22, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home.
