Diane
Hanson
Dec 11, 1954 — Sep 12, 2025
Farmerville
Funeral services for Mrs. Diane Hanson, age 70 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Majeskia and Bro. Vernon Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Linville under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Diane enjoyed her 20 + years in retail and cherished the time she spent visiting with her "customer friends". Her work ethic was as strong as her will. She always did what she wanted to do and she never met a stranger. Diane loved her family and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed raising her great grandsons the past four years. "Lil Boy" and "Bae Bae" were her world, and she thought they hung the moon. Diane went by many names, "Aunt D", "Slim", "Little Girl", "Hanna", but grandmother ("Granny Maw" and "MawMaw") was always her favorite. She always had a puzzle on the table. Visitors often sat and helped her put it together. She loved to "go" and she always said "going in a mustang was better". The casino called Dianes name often and she loved to go. She made many memories with her daughters and granddaughters at the beach. Diane was always smiling and loved to laugh and have a good time. She made many trips to Kansas to see her brother, David, and when Bessie Mae went with her, they always had a blast (and didn't pass many casinos without stopping to "play a little"). She enjoyed reading and watching the birds. Diane has always been a big "I love you" and "text me when you get home" person. She was loved beyond measure by many and will be greatly missed.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, William Harvey and Gladys Mae Stripling Thomas; three brothers, William Harvey Thomas, Richard Wayne Thomas, and David Thomas; her sister, Bessie Mae Ray; and her son in law, Glenn Braswell "Huck".
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Freddie Hanson; three daughters, Dawn Braswel, Bambi Hanson, and Angie Pilgreen; two sons, Mickey Skains (Connie) and Rusty Skains; sister, Elizabeth Bearden (Buddy); four grandchildren, Billy Skains, Brittany Hammond, Dr. Cody Skains (Sharmaine), and Laiyla Hanson; two great grandsons, Kashtyn and Kysyn Hudson; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Serving as pallbearers will be Will Stockle, Jeffery Pilgreen, Howard Gipson, John Hollaman, Brady Sonier, and Alex Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, September 15, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home.
