A funeral service for Mrs. Debra Kay Byrnes, 65, of Farmerville, La., will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La. with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Farmerville, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La. prior to the funeral service.
Debra Kay Byrnes was born October 2, 1956 and passed away May 2, 2022. Debbie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she was affectionately known as "Mamaw Debbie" to them. She enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her flowers. Mrs. Debbie loved to sing and gospel hymns were her favorite. Debbie also enjoyed spending time with her husband, Bruce. They loved to go fishing at the camp, visiting the mountains, and taking trips to the beach. Debbie was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Maybell Hodge; In-laws, Phillip and Retha Byrnes; and sister-in-law, Jean Albritton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 48 years, Bruce Byrnes; son, Joseph Byrnes (Kristi); grandchildren, Ashlyn Byrnes, Allyson Byrnes, Camryn Minkler, and Carolyne Byrnes; siblings, Dennis Hodge, Cathy Gilley (Jerry), Wendell Hodge (Lynette), and Tammy Knowles (Scotty); In-Laws, Jerry Joe Albritton, Don Byrnes (Giai), Dennis Byrnes (Susan), Sammy Byrnes (Linda), Scott Byrnes (Lisa), Penny Terral (Tracy), and David Byrnes (Sherri); special sisters, Pat Temple, Judy Rachal, and Vickie Culbertson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Jay Albritton, Robert Byrnes, Chris Terral, Adam Novak, Brady Byrnes, and Chad Knowles.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Billy Branch.
Donations may be made to Debbie's favorite charity: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas PI, Memphis, TN 38105.
