Funeral services for Mrs. Deborah Trull Taylor, age 74 of Gloster, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM, September 7, 2024 at Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall, LA with Dr. Mike Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM, at Liberty Hill Taylor cemetery in Farmerville, LA, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, September 7, 2024 at Salem Baptist Church.

Deborah Trull Taylor was born June 19, 1950 in Alexandria, Louisiana and died on August 31, 2024 at her home in Gloster, Louisiana with her husband by her side. She was the daughter of Henry H. Trull and Dorothy Belgard Trull Albritton.

She is preceded in death in addition to her parents, daughter Leigh Kristen Taylor, step father, Drex Albritton, and step brother, Butch Albritton.

Survivors include her husband of almost 55 years, Robert R. Taylor; sons, Chris Taylor and girls, Bailey, Allie, and Ella of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Dr. Scott Taylor (Jennifer) and girls, Madison, Ellie Kate, and Camille of Frierson, Louisiana; daughter, Lori Young of Shreveport, Louisiana and children Ashleigh Wilson (Zac) and Tyler Posey of Lexington, South Carolina, and Skyler Brackin (Tyler) of Athens, Alabama; and three great granddaughter, Sutton, Teagan, and Lola Wilson of Lexington, South Carolina; siblings, Dianna Trull and Denise Reid (Bobby) of Harrison, Arkansas; step sister, Donna Ballard of Fernandina Beach, Florida; Aunt, Jane Graves of Pineville, Louisiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Deborah was a 1968 graduate of Farmerville High School, Louisiana Tech University in 1983 with a degree in Library Science, and completed a teacher education program in 1988 at Northwestern State University.  She was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall. Debbie first started her teaching career at Pelican All Saints School and Pelican High School. Debbie retired from the Desoto Parish School System having taught in several schools, North Desoto High School, North DeSoto Middle School, Mansfield High School, and Mansfield Elementary School. She designed and opened two middle school libraires, North DeSoto Middle School (now Upper Elementary School) and the present middle school. She loved her kids throughout her career. Her favorite subject that she taught was Civics. Debbie was asked to leave Library to teach Civics because of the need to help the students be able to pass state requirements. Poor Health Forced her to retire.

Debbie has a varied background of work experience. She was an apartment resident manager in Newport News, Virginia and office manager for Baker Brush Company in Farmerville. She was a Federal Programs bookkeeper with Union Parish School System and owner of Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in the Twin Cities Shopping Center in Monroe. Debbie then started her teaching career. She was an avid Lady Techsters Basketball fan and served on the Tip Off Board for several Years.
