Graveside services for David Shawn "Hefty" Dean, 53, of Marion will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Liberty Cemetery in Linville, La. with Bro. Don Reeves officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Shawn "Hefty" was born December 17, 1966.  Surrounded by family and friends, he passed from this earth to his heavenly home on June 14, 2020.

Hefty was a lifelong resident of Union Parish, Louisiana.  He had a huge, loving heart and was the type of person who always seemed to make you smile.  He was that person who would literally give you the shirt off of his back and would help anybody, no matter the task.  He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his huge family and lots of friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lloyd W. Dean, III and Mary Martinez; maternal grandparents, Leze J. Trichell and Marion Rose Trichell; and father, Lloyd W. Dean, Jr.

Left to cherish his memories are his girlfriend, Renee Smith; mother, Eva Sue Roberson & husband, Wallace; brother, William "Chinky" Dean & wife, Jennifer; brother, Willie Dean & wife, Kellie; sister, Kimberly Thompson & husband, Chad; brother, Jarrell Dean; sister, Michelle King & husband, William; and lots of nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, Louisiana.
