Obituary

Funeral services for Daphne "Chunk" McDougle, 76, of Truxno, La., will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dewayne Ramsey and Bro. Richard Methvin officiating.  Interment will follow in Conway Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mrs. McDougle went to her heavenly home on January 5, 2021.  Daphne, better known as "Chunk", was always the life of the party, no matter where she was.  She loved to cook and was famous for her fried chicken and dumplins.  She mothered all of her children's friends, who lovingly called her "Mama Chunk".  She was the best cheerleader at all of her children and grandchildren's events.  Chunk was the 1999 Hog Calling Champion of the Corney Creek Pork Festival.  She loved her flowers and rose bushes and she enjoyed gardening.  "Chunk" was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. McDougle was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest & Lora Williams; brothers, Earnest "Buddy" Williams and Tim Williams & wife, Betty Sue Williams; sister, Margie Traylor & husband, Roany Traylor; and nephews, James "Rock" Lemoine, Mark Williams and Clyde Redl.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 62 years, Otis McDougle; daughter, Barbara Gates & husband, Stacy; son, Jimmy McDougle & wife, Brandi; grandchildren, Brooklyn Gates, Trey McDougle and Kyle McDougle; great-grandchild, Raylynn Smith; sister-in-law, Margaret Williams; close friend, Patsy Hollis; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Kyle McDougle, Trey McDougle, Dylan Till, Casey Traylor, Timmy Williams, Todd Williams, Carl Lemoine and Blake Ramsey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Traylor, Wayne Lemoine, Nathan Futch, Elvin Futch, Bennie Archie, Dr. Steven Unkel, Scotty Johnson and Henry Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.
