A funeral service for Mr. Danny Carl Sutton, 81, of Farmerville, La. will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville, La. with Bro. Scott Jennings and Bro. Rubin Weaver officiating the service. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Farmerville, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville, La. prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Danny Sutton passed away on December 13, 2021. Danny Sutton loved his wife, family, and his grandchildren. He especially loved hiding Easter eggs with his grandchildren on Easter. During the early part of his life, Danny worked as a bell boy at the Captain Shreve hotel in Shreveport, La. People would come to the hotel for the Louisiana Hayride, and he was able to meet celebrities such as John Wayne, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, and Debbie Reynolds. He worked at IMC – Angus as a pump maintenance for over 28 years. Mr. Danny enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed running fishing nets on the Ouachita River, and he also built slat traps, nets, and hoop nets. Danny was a craftsman, and he was very good at building. He built things such as tables and chairs, jewelry boxes, swings, and patio furniture. He was also a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Danny was loved and will be dearly missed by many.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Neb and Marie Sutton; one brother, Ronnie Sutton; and two sisters, Jo Hinton and Liz Sutton.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Jessie Mae Kennedy Sutton; one daughter, Michelle Sutton McNabb (Nathan); one son, Michael Sutton; grandchildren, Jessica Clark (Nathan), Jennifer Granger, Cole McNabb, Christian Sutton, Shelby Sutton, and Morgan Sutton; two great-grandchildren, Piper Sutton and Hayes Clark; one brother, Harold Sutton (Debbie), along with numerous friends and family members.
Pallbearers will be Nathan McNabb, Cole McNabb, Dale Putman, Lane Coleman, Jacob Coleman, and Brandon Thrash. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Morris and Curtis Bearden.
