Funeral services for Daniel Grafton Murphey, 80, of Bernice will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Pisgah Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Hurst and Bro. Eric Harkins officiating.  Interment will follow in Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Murphey went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 31, 2020.  Mr. Murphey was an avid CB'er and had his Ham radio license, with his call letters KE5YSK.  Mr. Murphey was fondly known by his nickname, Runt.  He and Mrs. Virginia traveled the country with Louisiana Modulators.  Mr. Murphey was a man of few words, but when he spoke, you wanted to listen.  He was very family oriented, very affectionate and always told his family that he loved them.

Mr. Murphey was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mattie Lee Murphey.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia Murphey; four children, Dannye Murphey (Jeanette), Dana Watkins (Jerry), Toby Murphey (Ginger) and Jennifer Barker (Travis); eight grandchildren, Katie Hoolan (Don), Magan Murphey, Logun Watkins (Marsha), Jake Watkins, Shelby Murphey, Riley Murphey, Allie Barker and Olivia Barker; one great-grandchild, Virginia Hoolan; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Don Hoolan, Jake Watkins, Logun Watkins, Riley Murphey, Jody Waldrop and Jerry Watkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Grube and James Christian.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. ~ 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Pisgah Baptist Church.
