A funeral service for Mr. Clinton Ned Barron, 92, of Spearsville, La., will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville, La with Elder C. C. Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Spearsville Cemetery in Spearsville, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La.

Ned was born April 17 ^th , 1930 in Spearsville, LA to the union of Clinton Cisco Barron and Ruby Angie Smith, and passed away July 17 ^th , 2022 in Farmerville, LA. He graduated from Spearsville High School in 1947, attended Louisiana Tech, then spent four years in the Air Force during the Korean war.  He then finished his degree in business from NorthEast Louisiana State College (now ULM) in 1957.

Ned married Augusta Juanita Thomas in 1957, and from this union two children were born – Tim and Pam.  They resided in San Antonio, TX where Ned worked as a cost analyst at Kelly and Lackland Air Force bases. This marriage ended in 1972.

Ned married Mary Francis Davis in 1974.  Upon his retirement in 1985 they relocated to his old home place in Spearsville, LA, where they cleared three acres in the middle of a pine forest to build their retirement home.  Their union lasted 45 years until Mary's death in 2019.  During their time in Spearsville he operated a small engine repair shop to serve the community.  An avid runner, Ned starting running in 1969 and continued this for 49 years until the age of 88.  He was a Deacon at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Spearsville, where his great grandfather had been the pastor a hundred years before.

Ned moved into the Arbor Rose Assisted Living Center in Farmerville in 2020 under the watchful care of a loving staff.  Sabrina Harrison was his devoted nurse and care giver during his stay at Arbor Rose.  We feel she has become one of our family, and she was with him during his final moments.

Ned was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary.  Survivors include his son Tim Barron and wife Della of Plano, TX;  daughter Pam Barron Tolhurst of Concord, NC;  grandson Justin Tolhurst;  granddaughter Lindsey Tolhurst;  brother Bruce Barron and wife Betty;  a dear aunt, Dale Smith Haynes Holloway; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends whose lives he touched and who will miss him greatly.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Joseph Barron, Clint Barron, Jeremy Hamrick, Jacob Hamrick, David Haynes, and Zachary Harrison.
