A memorial service for Cheryl Stiles McKenzie, age 76 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Cheryl was a live wire, opinionated and had the biggest heart in the world. Even when life happened the way it did for her, she never changed or did anything different. Her ultimate joy was aggravating Jerome with all of the cats and plants she brought home, neither of them could ever say no though. Cheryl had quite the green thumb and could make anything grow, especially if it was in a bucket of potting soil. Her favorite pastimes were gardening and sitting in her lawn chair next to the pond, shooting snakes with her 4-10. When Aaron and Jan found out they were pregnant with Brittani, he was so scared of his momma that he told her during her birthday dinner so there were witnesses. It seemed that when Cheryl found out about her coming granddaughter, everyone in Farmerville knew, except her. She loved and adored her children and grandchildren, but her great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and she had no problem with bragging about any of them. There are countless stories that we all have about her and each of them are near and dear to us all.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome McKenzie; two sons, Adam and Aaron McKenzie; parents, J.W. and Lottie Brantley; and a grandson, Justin Ott.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Brittani McKenzie; grandsons, Brandon, Jeffery, and Jeremy Alexander; her great granddaughters, Isabella Brantley and Audrey McKenzie; and a host of cousins, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation will be held at 12:30 PM, prior to the service, at Farrar Funeral Home, Saturday, April 18, 2026.
