Mrs. Carol Ann Thomas Rodgers, lovingly known as "Granny," was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1:12 PM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2026 at First Assembly of God in Farmerville with Bro. Robbie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Carol was born on July 26, 1945, to James Benjamin Thomas and Christine Dean Thomas Albritton. She was the third of five beautiful girls: Shirley, Pat, Brenda, and Sue. Growing up, Carol loved to sing and cook, especially alongside her sisters, a joy that stayed with her throughout her life.

At the age of 16, Carol met the love of her life, Fred Rodgers. They married and built a life rooted in love and devotion, raising two beautiful children, Cherryl and Lee.

Carol worked diligently throughout her life. She was employed at a garment factory, a brush factory, and Don's Foods, now known as Big Star. At the age of 50, she attended beauty school, becoming a hairdresser. Later, she retired after 27 years of service with the Union Parish School Board, where she worked as a bus driver.

Carol found great joy in cooking, serving her community, sending cards, and welcoming people into her home. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. If Carol had two pieces of bread, one and a half of them were yours and the other half was Pereaux's her fur baby.

She loved her family and friends with all she had and never met a stranger. To know Carol was to be changed by her — she was truly our angel on earth. She lived a life rooted in kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. With a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a heart big enough to hold everyone she met, Carol made people feel safe, cherished, and deeply loved. Her compassion was effortless, her laughter contagious, and her presence a true gift.

Carol found joy in the simple things in life: time spent with her family, shared meals, meaningful conversations over coffee, and making memories that will be treasured forever. She loved fiercely and selflessly, always putting others before herself. Her home and her heart were always open.

Carol was welcomed into heaven by her husband of 62 years, Fred Rodgers; her parents, James Benjamin Thomas and Christine Dean Thomas Albritton; her stepfather, BJ Albritton; and her sister, Brenda Curry.

She is survived by her daughter, Cherryl R. Johnson, and husband, Charlie; her son, Freddy Lee Rodgers II, and wife, Carla; five grandchildren: "Banjo" Johnson, Amber Savallo (Ryan), Jordan Rodgers, Tanner Rodgers (Olivia), and Mason Rodgers; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Shirley Sharp, Pat Alford, and Sue Albritton.

Serving as pallbearers will be "Banjo" Johnson, Tanner Rodgers, Mason Rodgers, Ryan Savallo, Benji Albritton, and Jamie Alford. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Curry, Robin Albritton, Kohen Savallo, Brendin Johnson, and Tristen Johnson.

Carol's legacy of love, kindness, and selfless devotion will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2026 at First Assembly of God.
