A funeral service for Mr. Bobbie Ray Bearden, 94, of Farmerville, La., will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville, La. with Bro. Rubin Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Farmerville, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville, La.
Mr. Bobbie Ray Bearden was born January 18, 1928 and passed away May 22, 2022. He was born to Monroe and Annie Bearden in Downsville, La. Bobbie was a multi-crafted person. He was a carpenter by trade and built many homes in Union Parish. Bobbie was also an electrician, plumber, and a mechanic. He was a fisherman and deer hunter and loved being outdoors. Up until he was 90 years old, he planted a large family garden every year.
In his free time, Bobbie and his wife enjoyed Western Swing Two-Step Dancing where they won several awards. They loved making memories together, traveling different places in their RV. They also enjoyed eating ice-cream together. Bobbie was a proud World War II Veteran and served in Japan while he was in the Army. He was also a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Bobbie was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Bobbie was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Annie Fuller Bearden; daughter, Sharon Joy Bearden Lenard; four sisters, Orell Patrick, Lucille Kennedy, Mattie Lindsey, and Sildry Mae Manuel; and three brothers, Oscar Bearden, Sr., Orbe Bearden, and Fuller Bearden.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 69 years, Lela Holleman Bearden, sister, Edna Antley; two sons, Curtis Bearden, Sr. (Jan) and Bobby Bearden (Pat); four grandchildren, Curtis Bearden, Jr. (Cristal), Brandon Bearden (Donna), Ashley Bearden, and Charity Livingston (Kyle); numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; along with other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Bearden, Jr., Brandon Bearden, Kyle Livingston, Jonathan Woolsey, Justin Johnson, and Steve Senn. Honorary pallbearers will be Peter Branch and L. E. "Popeye" Pardue.
