A graveside service for Mrs. Betty Jane Garris, age 103 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Rocky Branch Cemetery with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating.

As a young girl, Betty helped her father pick cotton and did many chores to help her family. This is where she learned her work ethic. As a mother, she worked a garden and canned food to help feed and provide for her family. Betty worked at Bernice Garment Factor for many years and was a supervisor. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her children. Betty was known as Mama, Grandmother, and Auntie to many. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years: John Milton Garris; her parents: Ollie and Zula Pardue Nolan; three brothers: Zollie Nolan (Dot), Ollie Nolan, Jr. (Nettie) and Jim Bob Nolan; sister: Lucille Nolan; and numerous sister and brother in laws and other family members.

She is survived by her three daughters: Bonnie Cain (Danny), Doyline Bird (Roy), and Dwiana Garris; grandchildren: Sonya Baker and Matt Bird (Krista); great grandchildren: Devin Bird, Garris Baker (Haley), and Kaitlyn Bird; and sister-in-law: Ruby Rogers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Cain, Roy Bird, Matt Bird, Garris Baker, Bill Garris, and Tom Garris.
