Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Ray, age 72 of Linville, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Farrar Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Robin Cox. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Linville, LA under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bessie was known for her fast wit and sarcasm and that "Bessie Mae" laugh. She worked as a cook at L.H.S and Marion Nursing home.

Mrs. Bessie is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years: Sidney Ray, parents: Harvey and  Gladys Stripling Thomas, and two brothers: Harvey "Bubba" Thomas and Wayne "Snout" Thomas.

She is survived by her daughter: Angie Pilgreen, three grandchildren: Stephanie Corbin (Blake), Raeann Pilgreen (Skylar) and Jeffrey, two great granddaughters: McKenzie Hicks and Sidney Corbin, two sisters: Diane Hanson (Freddie), Elizabeth "Sis" Bearden (Buddy), one brother: David Thomas (Becky), brother-in-law/son: Jeff Ray and wife Barbie and his daughter, Chloe, and two dear friends: Anita Diel and Nick Boyette.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Nowlin, Justin Callicott, Chris Ray, Virgil McKinnie, Robert Pace, and Lee Brantley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bonnie Russell and Nick Boyette.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Farrar Funeral Home.
