Benny Bruce Patton born June 24, 1959, beloved son, brother, and friend to all, went to his eternal reward September 30, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was owner and operator of Sunshine Construction for more than 20 years; employed by the State of Louisiana, and most recently an employer of Amethyst Construction. Bruce was a graduate of East Union Academy and attended La Tech. Like his politician father, Bruce never met a stranger. He had a zest for life and a generosity of spirit.
Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and particularly loved deer, turkey, and coon hunting. The friendships he made through hunting clubs and sporting events were precious to him. He also enjoyed fishing on Lake Darbonne and loved life in Farmerville. Most importantly, he wanted to be sure that everyone he knew had a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that he would meet them again in Heaven.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Benny Robert and Peggy Gantt Patton; and grandparents.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Rex Patton of Farmerville, LA; sisters, Rita Patton Morris and Haril of Tyler, TX and Sara Patton Hollis and Steve of Arcadia, LA.; nephews, Benny A. Hollis (Katie) of Lincoln, AK. and Daniel L. Hollis (Sarah) of Arcadia, LA.; niece, Emily Hollis Stern (Jeremy) of Haughton, LA.; great nephew and nieces, Rachel, Onalis, Sara, Aulden, Leah, and Abigail.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mikey Chance Kennedy, Mike Tooke, Benny Hollis, Aulden Hollis, Daniel Hollis, Jeremy Stern and special lifetime friend, Scotty Booth. Honorary pallbearers will be many dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA.
The family wishes to thank La Hospice and Palative Care and Candy Coats. Also special thanks to Hometown Heroes for all they have done.
