A funeral service for Mr. Bennie B. Skains, 85, of Farmerville, La., will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, 2:00 PM at Farmerville Assembly of God in Farmerville, La. with Bro. Robbie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery in Farmerville, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mr. Bennie Skains passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Mr. Bennie loved his children and grandchildren. He cherished his family and they meant the world to him. In his early years, he served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Bennie loved to be outdoors. Some of his hobbies consisted of hunting, fishing and gardening. Mr. Bennie began his career in the oil and gas industry, working on a pipe line as a welder and helper. During his retirement, he worked with Sardis Water Company for many years. He was a walking miracle after his accident in 2013. He was also a member of Farmerville Assembly of God and he was a great Christian example. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

Mr. Bennie is preceded in death by: his parents, John and Orare Bearden Skains; daughter, Sharon Shaughnessy; grandsons, Ronald Atkins and Chris Hutto; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Marvin Albritton; and brother, Taylor "Pug" Skains.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 57 years, Nan Ferguson Skains; three daughters, Vicky Key (Red), Teresa Hutto (Billy Don Knowles) and Cindy Skains (Vince Militello); two sons, Marlin "Bub" Maddoux (Kathy) and Bob Maddoux (Nancy); one brother, Danny Skains (Debbie); and one sister-in-law, Maxine Skains; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren; along with other nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Tanya Sellers and Vickie Brantley for their loving care.

Pallbearers will be: Marlin Maddoux, Bob Maddoux, John A. Skains, Mike Marchant, Clay Farris, C.O. Maddoux, George "Bill" Love and Bradley Bryan. Honorary pallbearers will be: Danny Skains, Randy Tucker, Houston Rhodes and Eddie Parnell.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Farmerville Assembly of God in Farmerville, La.
