Belinda Sharp
Matthews
May 21, 1956 — Dec 22, 2020
Ruston
A memorial service for Tina Belinda Matthews will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
Belinda was born on May 21, 1956 in Farmerville, La. and left this world on December 22, 2020 in Ruston, La. with her husband by her side. It had been a long, hard illness and she fought it with strength and courage until the end.
Belinda worked hard all of her life, always wanting to pull her own weight. Her main jobs were Physical Therapy Tech at Union General Hospital, Clerk at D'Arbonne State Park and a Librarian at the Claiborne Parish Library. When she wasn't on the job, she was working at home. She always worked hard and respected other who did, also.
There was never a more loving, unselfish person in the world than Belinda, as all who knew her can attest. She loved her family, children, grandchildren and the mothers of her grandchildren.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents, Ernestine & John Willie Sharp; and two brothers, Phillip Sharp and Joel Sharp.
Belinda left behind her loving husband, who was her best friend, Michael Matthews of Ruston, La.; her first husband of 23 years, Harold Beckham; two sons, Levy Beckham and Stacy Beckham both of Farmerville, La.; two step-sons, John Matthews & wife, Elizabeth of Ruston, La. and Jack Matthews of Heflin, La.; one step-daughter, Kate Wooten & husband, Charlie of Kansas City, Mo.; and grandchildren, Justice Ogelthorpe, Zachary Beckham, Kaylee Beckham, Xander Beckham, Landen Matthews, Michael Matthews, A.J. Matthews, Mary Matthews, Abigail Wooten, Merideth Wooten and Evan Wooten.
Belinda was a one-in-a-million type of person. Her strong faith in God and a wonderful upbringing by her parents made her a special gift from God to all of us who knew her. She will be forever missed.
