Barbara passed away on Tuesday, March 28 th after a 6-month battle with CNS lymphoma. She was 74 years of age and at the time of her death was a resident of Arbor Lake in Farmerville, LA.

Barbara was the 7 th of eight children born to Corrie and James Buckley and from childhood was known for her kind spirit and sweet smile. She was a graduate of Bernice High School and Louisiana Tech University and taught for 33 years at Lillie Middle School and Hico Elementary.

She was an outstanding basketball athlete at Bernice High School and her name appears on the Wall of Fame inside the Bernice gymnasium. She continued her love of sports after graduation, participating in a  summer softball league in Farmerville where she met her husband to be, David Yarbrough. Both Barbara and David were founding members of the Meadowlake Golf Course in Bernice and Barbara was currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors at Meadowlake and had previously served as a member of the Union Parish School Board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Yarbrough; parents James and Corrie Buckley; sister, Betty Buckley Smith; brother. James Bishop Buckley and niece Linda Kay Robinson.

She is survived by her sisters Cathy Buckley, Sue Buckley, Ann Boone, Maudellen Hollis all of Bernice; brother, Johnny Buckley (Jeanette) of Bernice; nieces Lori Buckley of Athens; Johnna Jinks (Mark) of Ruston; nephew, James G. Buckley (Leanna) of Monroe; great nephew Mason Jinks of Ruston, Christopher Robinson of Williamsburg, Virginia, great nieces Marley Jinks of Ruston and Hannah Buckley of Monroe; stepsons Kenneth Yarbrough (Sasha) of West Monroe and their son Zack and John Yarbrough of West Monroe. Also left to cherish her memory is the congregation at Shiloh Baptist Church where Barbara served faithfully for all her 74 years.

Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends but long ago she made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as her Savior and she considered the fact that her name was written in the Lamb's Book of Life far more important than earthly honors. Although we grieve for her absence from this life we rejoice in the fact that God called her home and away from the suffering of her illness and to eternal life with Jesus Christ.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Harkins, Jimmy Harkins, Gene Terral, James Wicker, Daniel Franks, Larry Green, Donnie Grafton, and Greg Green. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Rand Aden, Thomas Sevin, Mike Lunsford and Simon Pearson.
