Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Nell Bryant Jester, age 86 of Laran, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Boatwright officiating. Interment will follow at Laran Cemetery in Laran under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barbara passed away early morning on July 31, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Laran on September 1, 1938 to JC and Vinola Harrison Bryant. She had an imagination and vision for any project. A military wife, devoted mom, Production Supervisor at Newell Paint Brush Co. for 14 years, she gave her all to be the best. Barbara traveled to Oregon to work in oil paint production which led her to Limestone, Tennessee, where she, again, led the team in paint brush production. She retired in 2000. Barbara took up a hobby in Genealogy and enjoyed tracing her families roots, learning as many details and passing the stories along. Barbara loved the spring show of flowers and gardening was a true love although she would get so frustrated when things didn't turn into magazine perfect plants.

Upon retirement, Barbara and Bob returned to Louisiana to finish out the rest of their lives. Things didn't turn out so perfect when her soul mate of 45 years unexpectantly passed on. Mt. Olive Baptist Church has always held a very special place in her heart. She strived to make sure that not only the building but the members were loved and cared for.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne Jester; two sons, Robert Sean Jester and Kevin Wayne Jester; sister, Linda Nale; brothers, Max Delane Bryant and Michael Bryant; and her grandson, Derek Jester.

She was survived by her son, Brian Jester (Karen); daughter, Kecia Jester; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Day, Caleb Day, Jerry Day, Jacob Jester, Bradley Nale, and Brian Jester.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM until the time of service, Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home.
