Funeral services for Alice R. Oliver, 76, of Bernice will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, September 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Bernice with Bro. Michael McIntosh and Bro. Randy Trail officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Patrick Cemetery, near Bernice, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mrs. Oliver went to her heavenly home on September 2, 2017. Alice was a faithful, loving, devoted wife and mother. She was an accomplished seamstress, an expert quilt maker and made many beautiful dresses throughout the community. She loved her church where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed singing in the Choir.

Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Louis & Alice Schroeder Rossie; and infant daughter, Suzette Marie Oliver.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 56 years, Bobby Joe Oliver of Bernice, La.; two sons, Terry Joe Oliver & wife, Shirley of Bernice, La. and Christopher Lane Oliver & wife, Chastity of Chatham, La.; one daughter, Michele Louise Oliver Maxey & husband, Reggie of Orange, Tx.; two brothers, Jimmie Rossie & wife Lois and Edgar Rossie all of Conway, Ar.; two sisters, Anna Sanders & husband, Glen of Kerrville, Tx. and Beulah Hutchinson & husband, Dennis of Gonzales, La.; eight grandchildren, Joseph Paul Oliver, Keith Jason Oliver, Ashlie Nicole Oliver Martin, Devin Gregory Bradshaw, Lillian Grace Oliver, Christopher Beaux Oliver, Mark Cameron Maxey and Nicholas Ryan Maxey; five great grandchildren, Lexi Oliver, Lane Oliver, Keeton Oliver, Rylie Ann Martin and Allie Jo Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Farris, Ken Paul Farris, Phillip Farris, David Gaar, Bob Baldwin and Glenn Hutto.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Bernice.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Bernice from 10:00am until noon.

The family request memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Bernice or a charity of your choice.
