Obituary

Graveside services for Alan Pylant, 45, of Downsville will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Rugg's Bluff Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Nolan officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Pylant passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 in Alexandria, La.  Alan was a 1993 Graduate of Downsville High School.  He was voted Mr. D.H.S. and Most Athletic his senior year.  He loved sports and grew up playing ball.  He played basketball and baseball in High School, but loved playing volleyball with very close friends.  He loved drawing and had a beautiful voice for singing.  Alan was so full of life and enjoyed having a good time.

Five years ago, Alan's health started to decline.  He has had a very lengthy battle with many medical conditions.  In the past year, Alan's struggle became real, which carried him to his eternal home.  With the help of his Aunt Linda Gayle Hutto & family, he fought a courageous battle.

Mr. Pylant was preceded in death by his father, Claude Kenny Pylant; grandparents, Myrtis & Claude Pylant, Jerry & Geraldine Watson and Edith Bender; and niece, Destiny Pylant.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ashton Brooke Darden & wife, Erica Darden of West Monroe, La.; mother, Cindy Bender & husband, Robert of West Monroe, La.; sisters, Miranda Pylant and Krystal Rawls & husband, Brandon all of Downsville, La.; brother, Rob Bender of Monroe, La.; nieces and nephews, Shayna Dickey, Logan Pylant, Sabrina Simons, C.J. Viola and Easton Rawls; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Barkley, David Wainwright, Jerry Carter, Kevin Elkins, Zane White, Kevin Jennings, Shone Johnson, Gary Pylant and Daniel Wainwright.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville.

For those that are planning on attending Alan's visitation, the family requests that everyone please wear a mask.
