Dr. Addison Thomas "Tommy" Ward, III, 77, of Farmerville, LA, passed away on March 23, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. Tommy was born on December 3, 1947, to A.T. and Kathleen Ward and raised in Sterlington, LA. He graduated from Sterlington High School in 1965 and attended Northeast Louisiana State College (now ULM) and then graduated from the LSU School of Dentistry in 1972.

Tommy married his college sweetheart, Donna, and together they raised two sons. With Donna as his office manager, Tommy dedicated 35 years to his dental practice that served Farmerville and the surrounding areas. Many of their patients went on to become lifelong friends.

Tommy was an active member of the community. He served as a Farmerville Jaycee, as well as a member of the Union General Hospital Board. Tommy also taught Sunday School and held many church offices through the years.

Tommy was an avid outdoorsman and spent much of his time outside. He enjoyed tending to his garden. He loved hunting and fishing with his uncle Buck Parks and his two sons, especially at his beloved DeLoutre (the Looter).  He also enjoyed catching redfish with his family in South Louisiana. He loved being on the banks of Deep Creek in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. Tommy also had many happy memories of the time he spent in Colorado where he and Donna had a second home for several years.

Another favorite pastime was woodworking in his shop. He built hundreds of duck boxes to donate for fundraisers and for the Delta Waterfowl Organization. He also built and donated several porch swings to Cedar Creek School for their annual auction. Tommy also enjoyed singing with the FBC choir and Faithful Men group and could sing the funniest version of Happy Birthday you've ever heard.

In addition to these hobbies, Tommy also had a passion for cooking. Fried fish, shrimp pasta, and Italian sausage lasagna were just a few of the family favorites. He had the ability to taste restaurant dishes and successfully re-create the recipes at home.

Tommy dearly loved his wife and sons and thoroughly enjoyed being "TaTom" and later "Ta" to his grandchildren, niece, and great niece.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Donna Estes Ward; his children Chris Ward (Amy) of Greenbrier, AR, Keith Ward (Heather) of Farmerville; his grandchildren Victor, Dylan, and Brandon Ward; brother Jerry Ward of Sterlington, LA; sister in law Lisa Estes (Jan Brown) of Montgomery, AL; brother in law Mike Estes (Dana) of Farmerville; niece Marisa Estes Gleason (John) of Farmerville; great niece Emerson Mae Gleason, and many friends.

A celebration of Tommy's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025 at First Baptist Church Farmerville under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Kurt Auger officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Farmerville. Pallbearers will be Dylan Ward, Brandon Ward, John Gleason, Derek Reid, Jimmy Stapleton, and Will Iman. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Read, Dan Hollis, Art Rainwater, Bill Patterson, Jason Baron, Warren Bryan, Charles Terral, Glenn Hutto, and Eddie Albritton. Following the service, a graveside service will take place at Farmerville City Cemetery.
