Robert Gulley, age 83, of Oakland, LA, departed for his heavenly home on October 7, 2026, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 12, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Marion, LA, with Bro. Bubba Hoggatt officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Oakland, LA, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Marion on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 5:00 PM–7:00 PM.
Robert was born on September 5, 1943, in Oakland, LA, to Charles and Effie Lee Gulley. Robert was devoted to the Lord and served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Marion until his health declined in recent years. He was a chicken farmer for over 30 years, and for most of his life he was an avid outdoorsman who loved the woods, hunting, and dogs. He was dedicated to his wife, his family, and to the many friends he made throughout the years, and he enjoyed reminiscing and sharing old stories.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dianne Gulley; his parents, Charles and Effie Lee Gulley; his sister, Charlene Foster (Rev. Jessie); his son‑in‑law, Marty Littleton; and his brother‑in‑law, Jerry Lynn (Bo) Edwards.
He is survived by his three daughters, Lori Withers (Bruce), Amy Littleton, and Danna Gulley; grandchildren, Hannah Johnson (Clint), Hayden Monk, and Mallory Withers; one great‑grandchild, Tripp Johnson; sisters, Jennifer Wicker (James) and Susan Edwards; sisters‑in‑law, Linda Murray and Icea Lee Murray; as well as a special uncle and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Franklin, Clint Johnson, James Goldsby, Benny Benson, Wes Franklin, and Bro. Will Englerth. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Benson, James Wicker, Bobby Earle Hicks, and Bobby Dugal.
The family offers a sincere thank‑you to the doctors, nurses, caretakers, and the friends he made at Fresenius Kidney Center for the exceptional care and kindness they showed him throughout the last years of his life, as well as to the nurses and therapists with Elara Caring. The family also wishes to acknowledge the medical staff at St. Francis Hospital for the care and compassion shown to him.
