Mildred Brantley

Mildred Hodge Brantley, born April 4, 1928 in Union Parish, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord July 2, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 6, 2026 at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Cross Roads Cemetery under the direction of Farrar funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service, starting at 12:00 PM, at Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Mildred loved her Lord and was very active for many years in WMU. She was a longtime member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and taught GAs and Sunday School for many years. Mildred had many friends. Her special friends at Arbor Lake Nursing Home included Billie Hurst, Brenda Holliday, and Roxie Roan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, J.B. Brantley; brother, Aubrey Hodge; sister, Betty Sue Nolan; and her parents, H.G. and Eunice Hodge.

Mildred is survived by her sons, James (Gay), Terry (June), and Kevin (Shirley); and daughter, Dona Luginbill. She has ten grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff, management, and residents of Arbor Lake Nursing Home for their love and care for her during her stay and Elara Hospice Care.

Mildred was a wonderful Mother and friend and will be dearly missed.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tony Brantley, Charles (Buddy) Ethridge, Kevin Brantley, Jr., Justin Brantley, Jeremy Luginbill, and John Luginbill. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Tyler Brantley, Connor Ethridge, Brantley McKinnie, Carter McKinnie, Kaynon Frye, Will Brantley, Aaden Brantley, Jacob Brantley, Ryker Brantley, Holden Otwell, Braden Luginbill, Jarrod Luginbill, and Brandon Lugnbill.
