Laurie Doss

Laurie Doss, passed away on August 13, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on August 2, 1960, Laurie's life was marked by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, august 17, 2026 at Farrar Funeral Home followed by interment at Ruggs Bluff Cemetery in Downsville under the direction of Farrar Funeral home.

For more than twenty years, Laurie applied her strong work ethic to her career at Sterlington Rehab, working in medical billing. Her diligence and commitment established her as dedicated to excellence and service. Family was central to Laurie's life. Outside her professional pursuits, Laurie found immense joy in moments spent with her husband, best friend, children and grandchildren. She was always present to cheer them on, especially when watching them play sports—her encouragement and pride were constants in their lives. The love she held for her family, particularly her grandchildren, was profound and unconditional, shaping countless treasured memories.

Laurie is preceded in death by her parents, Lenwood and Mary Miller Alvis, sister in laws Marie Carson, Carol Alvis, and Nan Ritter, brother-in-laws Bart Cook and Mack Doss; father-in-law Delton Doss, mother-in-law Doris Grafton Doss. Though deeply missed, the memories of her departed loved ones remained a cherished part of her heart.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Kenny Doss; children, Josh Adkins (Jordan), Brandy Hurst (Justin), Summer Perkins (Bryan), and Daniel Doss; grandchildren. Journey Aulds (Kent), Jericho Adkins, Laney Hurst, Everly Hurst, and Haley Driskell; siblings, Virginia Hudson, Terry Alvis (Terry), Liz Wooldridge, Lenwood "Bubba" Alvis, Warren Alvis, Angie Bass (Scott), and Stephanie Canterberry (Andy), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Jory Hudson, Jesse Hudson, B.J. Alvis, Gage Alvis, Nick McKlean, Dusty Alvis, Garrett Canterberry, Mason Jones, Andrew Scalia, and Robert Alvis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Hudson, and Aaron Hudson.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM, prior to the service at Farrar Funeral Home, Monday, August 17, 2026.
