Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Farrar, age 86 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 6, 2026 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rocky Branch, LA. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Jerry was a Biologist with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for 33 years. He was the Deer Study Leader for many years for the state of Louisiana. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting, turkey, and squirrel hunting specifically. After retirement, he enjoyed working his cows at his farm at his birthplace of Lillie, Louisiana. He should best be remembered for his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and as a neighbor and friend to all. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for over 40 years. It was there he served with obedience and love to every soul he met. His name was synonymous with "friend".

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Lois Irene Nicklas Farrar; and his sister, Gail Hughes.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Murrell Williams Farrar; three sons, Jeffrey Farrar (Cammie), Daniel Farrar (Marti), and Tracy Farrar (Diane); grandchildren, Maela, Caleb, Kyler, and Bryanna Farrar; and great grandson, Joshua Farrar.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Farrar, Joe Paul Hammett, Madison Averette, Jimmy Lon Rogers, Brian Greenham, Chuck Temple, and John Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Chapman, J.C. Honeycutt, Chuck Lowery, Dickie Chapman, and Steve Craighead.

Visitation will be held at 12:30 PM, prior to the service, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Monday, April 6, 2026.
