Carolyn Wallace

Carolyn Wallace, age 86 of Downsville, LA, passed away October 23, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1940 in West Monroe, LA, to Albert William and Minnie Irene Fisher Block. Carolyn was a graduate of West Monroe High School. She received her LPN degree from Northeast Louisiana University after raising four children and worked many years as an LPN in nursing homes. She was a member of St. Pashals Catholic Church, enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and tending to her roses. She loved butterflies and her favorite color was yellow. Carolyn had a great sense of humor, was constantly laughing, and she loved her family.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Alfred Mayo Calhoun and Donald Duane Wallace; parents, Albert and Minnie Block; and two sons, Alfred Wayne Calhoun and Michael Byron Calhoun.

She is survived by her son, James Edward Calhoun (Tonya), daughter, Rhonda Faye Albritton (Kalan Albritton), brother, Albert William Black, Jr. (Ann); six grandchildren, Jennifer Daniels, Amanda Albritton, Casey Abritton, Kala Albritton, Jamie Calhoun Leonard, and Kaitlyn Calhoun Holland; and 11 great grandchildren.
